Hygienists

Monika
Monika is a dedicated and experienced registered dental hygienist committed to providing gentle and preventative dental care. She graduated from Vancouver Island University and later earned her Bachelor of Dental Sciences from the University of British Columbia. Since 2009, Monika has been practicing in the Greater Vancouver area, and since 2012, she has proudly called the North Shore home.
Monika’s approach to dental hygiene focuses on helping patients maintain their periodontal health while ensuring a positive, knowledgeable, and supportive experience during their visits. She strongly believes in preventative care—not only in dentistry but in all aspects of health.
In 2011, Monika participated in a medical missionary trip to Liberia, West Africa, where her team provided care to nearly 3,000 people. This experience remains one of the highlights of her career. She has also shared her expertise as a clinical instructor at UBC’s dental hygiene program, a role she found incredibly rewarding.
Beyond her work, Monika values building a strong community where she lives and practices. She believes that loving what you do is essential for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Living in the Pacific Northwest, she takes full advantage of the outdoors—snowboarding, trail running, hiking in the mountains, and spending time at local beaches. Above it all, she loves spending time with her son.

Zlatko
Zlatko was fascinated with teeth so a career in Dentistry felt like a perfect match. He earned his DMD degree from University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina where he practiced dentistry for more than 10 years. After moving to Canada with his family, he earned his Dental Hygiene Diploma from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene where he graduated with high honours.
Since then, Zlatkos passion for dentistry has been complemented by his desire to connect with patients and provide individualized care. Besides the social interaction with the patients, his favourite part of the day is seeing someone who followed his hygiene advice and feels the improvement in his or his oral health.
A positive attitude goes a long way as a dental hygienist. Many of our patients love Zlatkos energetic, friendly, and outgoing personality and this, in turn, eases their stress of visiting our dental office.
Outside of work, Zlatko enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter. He is an outdoor enthusiast and a passionate skier. During winter, you will most likely find him skiing on one of the North Shore Mountains.

Phil
In 2006 Phil graduated from the dental hygiene program at Oxford College in Toronto. Shortly after Philip moved to Vancouver in 2007 and joined our team at Valley Centre Dental Group in January of 2021. He has quickly become popular with our patients. His goal is to make dental cleanings as relaxing as possible.
Philip is passionate about martial arts and enjoys listening to his record collection. On the weekends Phil enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter here in Lynn Valley and supporting his daughter in her Irish dance classes.

Megan
Megan began her career in dentistry as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1998 before going back to school and graduating as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2009. The procedural approach Megan used while flying Medivac planes strongly tie to her systematic approach to health care. Her greatest reward is seeing a patient with a severe periodontal condition transition over time into a healthier smile. She takes pride in her role of oral health promotion and disease prevention, staying current on new products, innovations and research in the dental industry. Megan has sharpened her dental skills working in a periodontist specialist office where she greatly expanded her expertise. We are always happy to see Megan for a shift as she is a true team player and always comes to work putting her best foot forward.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys skiing, hiking and spending time with her husband and three kids at the lake. In 2020, she successfully competed in the Peek to Creek ski race in Whistler.

Sofia
Sofia was born and raised in the beautiful Philippines and made the bold decision to move to Vancouver in 2022. That same year, she completed the Certified Dental Assistant Program at Western Community College. While studying, she also earned a Diploma in Hospitality Management—balancing both fields with dedication and determination.
After graduation, Sofia began working at a nonprofit dental clinic in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. It was there that she gained valuable hands-on experience, deepened her knowledge of dentistry, and discovered a strong passion for patient care. She describes it as a place of growth—both personally and professionally.
Sofia is known for her warm, positive attitude and genuine kindness, which she brings to every interaction with patients and colleagues. She believes that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in creating a welcoming, supportive environment.
Outside the clinic, Sofia enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping, and picnics with friends and family. She’s also an avid foodie who loves discovering new cafés and restaurants—especially those offering diverse cuisines from around the world.

Julie

Nichole
We are very fortunate to have Nichole as a part of our team. She brings over 20 years of experience as a Certified Dental Assistant but is always eager to learn more. Nichole truly cares about her patients, with the aim to build a genuine relationship and help people feel comfortable for their regular and emergency dental visits. Over the years, Nichole has spent time volunteering in Vancouver, Mexico City as well as in the tsunami-struck regions of Thailand, providing dental care to those without the means to access it. She loves to travel and owns an absurd number of cookbooks, testing various creations on her supportive family. She lives in Lynn Valley with her husband and three kids and loves hiking and running the beautiful trails of the North Shore with her dog Indy.

Esther
Originally from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Esther moved to Langley with her family in 2012. She graduated from the Certified Dental Assistant Program at Vancouver Community College in 2015 and joined our team in early 2016. Since then, she has grown into a highly skilled, reliable, and intuitive member of our clinical team.
Esther is the primary assistant for both Dr. Vo and Dr. Joyce, and she frequently assists Dr. Bach as well. With years of experience and a deep understanding of each dentist’s working style, she helps ensure that every procedure runs smoothly and efficiently—creating a better experience for both patients and practitioners. Dr. Bach often jokes that she can read his mind—and Esther doesn’t deny it.
Dedicated to ongoing professional development, Esther recently completed advanced training in orthodontics and is enthusiastic about expanding her role in that area of care.
Outside of work, Esther is an avid traveler with a passion for sports. Whether she’s cheering on local teams or planning trips around major sporting events, she’s always ready to show her team spirit. She has also volunteered in Uganda and traveled extensively through South Africa, Ukraine, and Europe. In her downtime, you’ll find her snowboarding, playing softball, or enjoying time with friends and family—preferably outdoors, with plenty of laughter and gluten-free snacks.
Office Manager

Erica
Erica’s passion for dentistry stems from her love of making people smile. Erica has been practicing as a Certified Dental Assistant for the past 10 years. Besides her knowledge and interest in dental procedures and the clinical part of the job, Erica has always been trying to improve efficiency and organization in our clinic. Wanting to know better how things work at the “front end”, she learned the aspects and peculiarities of the receptionist’s job. Her knowledge and experience in clinical dentistry, office administration, treatment planning, her commitment to our patients, loyalty, attention to detail and mentorship of her fellow team members helped her evolve into the role of the Office Manager and Treatment Coordinator. Above all, Erica finds it rewarding seeing people smile with trust and confidence when they leave our office. She is known for her use of ‘dad jokes’ when nothing else works. When asked why she loves working with Valley Centre Dental, she says: “I have complete confidence and trust in the way our clinicians work. Our clinic’s ethics, clinical and cosmetic expertise of our staff and the overall commitment to excellence give me confidence in referring my friends and family to Valley Centre Dental Group. Our office’s involvement within the community of Lynn Valley makes me very proud to be a part of this exceptional team of dental professionals.” Outside of dentistry, Erica volunteers her time in a community garden, travels and enjoys spending time with her husband, son and rescue cat Lux.
